Musicmatch announces a music download store

Musicmatch throws their hat in the digital download ring with the announcement of their own digital download service. The service, dubbed Musicmatch Downloads, holds over 200,000 tracks on launch date with a goal of 500,000 tracks by year’s end. “By offering consistent and fair ownership rights, breakthrough music personalization, convenient purchasing and the highest quality files, our service is better than any free illegal alternative,” said Dennis Mudd, Musicmatch chairman and chief executive officer.
