Digital distribution agents emerge
12Sep03
Kristin Thomson has posted interviews, at the Future of Music website, with two of the firms launching digital distribution agencies. These agencies manage the relationship between digital music services and independent artists and labels.
IODA, the Independent Online Distribution Alliance, was launched by a team of individuals led by Kevin Arnold from NoisePop fame. Digital Rights Agency has been founded by Tuhin Roy, an executive with a history at Echo and Perkins Coie (Intellectual Property law). Both services already represent a good number of independent labels.
